An outcome of the research is ATD's talent development framework. This framework is a guide that allows organizations to rearrange, remove, and add functions to fit their needs. Organization size, type, and industry are often important factors that may guide how a company's talent development function is structured.
Data from respondents in the study identified 15 primary functions (see the red pieces) for a talent development structure.
The orange pieces are secondary functions, or activities that some talent development departments may conduct.
You can create your own talent development structure using an online tool that allows you to move pieces around to customize your ideal talent development structure. You can even add your company logo! Click the image below to sign in and start creating your own.
